Keep track of phones by IMEI

POSBack officeUpdated 2 November 2026

The IMEI register lists every phone by its IMEI or serial number, and where it is: in stock, on the way, sold or damaged. IMEI register is in the menu, under Stock, for a shop set up as Mobiles & electronics, or one that also sells phones. Both are set in Settings, then Kind of shop & POS.

Sell a product by IMEI

  1. Open Products and click the product, then Edit.
  2. Open Serials and warranty, and set Each one sold carries to An IMEI, Two IMEIs or A serial number.
  3. Click Save changes.

The POS then asks for the number before payment and prints it on the bill.

Register phones already on the shelf

Phones are registered when you receive a delivery. For phones you had before, scan them in once.

  1. Click IMEI register under Stock in the menu.
  2. Click a product that shows to register, like 2 to register.
  3. Click Register phones on the shelf.
  4. Scan each phone, then click Register.

Find a phone

Type at least four digits of an IMEI or serial number in Find an IMEI or serial number. dhivi POS looks across all your shops, and shows which shop has it, or that it was sold, damaged or is on the way.

Good to know

  • Once a product has phones in the register, the POS only sells registered phones.
  • Scanned a number by mistake? Open the product, click the cross next to the number, then Take it off. The phone stays in stock. This works only for phones registered on this page, still in stock.
  • Phones sent to another shop are scanned when packed and when counted in. See Transfers.
