Check what is expiring
Expiry lists your batches with stock at this shop, earliest expiry first, each with its value at cost. It is in the menu, under Stock, for a pharmacy, grocery store, supermarket or hypermarket, and for a shop that also sells items with an expiry date. These are set in Settings, then Kind of shop & POS.
Keep stock by batch
- Open Products and click the product, then Edit.
- Open Batch and expiry, and switch on Keep stock by batch and expiry.
- Under Warn before expiry, enter how many days ahead to warn. Under Accept a delivery with at least, enter the fewest months of shelf life you accept.
- Click Save changes.
- When you receive a delivery, enter the batch number and expiry date for each line.
At the POS, the cashier selects the batch handed over. The earliest expiry is listed first and marked Sell first.

Act on a batch
- Send to a shop: move it to a shop that sells it faster, before it expires.

- Expired batches cannot be sold or sent to a shop. Return them to the supplier or write them off.
- Batches are not offered on a product sold with an IMEI or serial number.
- A delivery with less shelf life than you accept is flagged when it is received.
