Add sizes, colours and other attributes

An attribute is something you describe a product by, like Colour, Size or Material. You set a value on each product, and can then filter and label by it. The same attributes are used at every shop.

Attributes is in the menu for clothing and footwear shops.

Add an attribute

1. Click Attributes under Catalogue in the menu.
2. Click Add an attribute.
3. Enter a Name, for example Colour.
4. Under How is it answered?, choose Pick from a list or Typed in.
5. For a list, type each value under Values and press Enter, for example S, M, L.
6. Click Add attribute.

Then open a product, click Edit, and set its value.

Good to know

• An attribute does not split a product. A product with Size M is still one product, with one price and one stock count. To sell S, M and L as separate products, use Create grid on Products.
• The arrows on an attribute move it earlier or later on the product form.
• Not needed any more? Click Edit and switch off Shown on product forms. Products keep their values.
• Delete also removes its values from every product.
• How it is answered cannot be changed later. Delete it and add a new one instead.
